David likes to think of the CD as "a series of musical postcards through 13 original compositions which perfectly capture the atmosphere of warm sunny days and balmy nights in the Mediterranean". Whether upbeat or laid back, these jazz rhythms and melodies will transport you there, recreating the relaxed mood and colours of this region. Indeed, many of David's pieces were composed on his holidays in Europe, so listen for the relaxing echoes of the South of France and Italy in his brief breaks from a busy orchestral year. It was recorded by sound engineer Brian Masterson and features supporting musicians Stephen McFarlane (electric guitar), Andrew Csibi (double bass) and Robbie Harris (percussion).

A Minor Happiness is the name of David and Josh's debut CD which is available through this website. It is also available by post and at gigs, and can be purchsaed in selected shops in Ireland.
The tunes on the album cover all bases of their repertoire; taking in their classical influences, blues music and latin jazz as well as the more traditional swing jazz angle of their performances. There are eight of David's original compositions. Highlights among these include the epic Tout Suite Blues and the breezy swing of Avignon and Helter Skelter. David and Josh have also included a few surprises - check out Wilhelm Statius-Muller's very rare piece Kalin (from his "Antillean Dances" suite) and an arrangement of the tango Kiss Of Fire (with some help from Georges Bizet).
The CD was recorded in May 2004 in RTE Radio Studios in Dublin and mixed later in the summer in various locations in Dublin. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Richard Duckworth using mobile recording technology and software and an Apple Macintosh Computer. The design for the cover was created by the team at Slick Fish Design in Dublin from notes and sketches by Doireann MacKenzie.
